Who We Are

A youth-led force for
climate action in Africa

Banyani is a youth-led climate-action nonprofit based in Ghana, committed to building a sustainable future by empowering communities, schools, and individuals to take bold action against climate change.

Founded by a passionate team of African climate advocates, we connect grassroots movements with national and global sustainability goals. Through environmental education, community projects, and creative advocacy, we equip the next generation with the tools to protect our planet and reimagine a greener, fairer Africa.

"Almost two years ago, in a lecture theatre at the University of Cape Coast, a casual conversation among friends became something far greater."

Banyani founding team

"We laughed, exchanged ideas, debated solutions — and somewhere in the midst of that moment, a seed was planted."

"Almost two years ago, in a lecture theatre at the University of Cape Coast, what started as a casual conversation among friends would soon become something far greater."

We debated solutions to the world's problems — and somewhere in the midst of that moment, a seed was planted. An idea emerged: simple, bold, and necessary.

Subconsciously, we were birthing an initiative, one that would take on a global crisis with local roots. That initiative became Banyani — a name, a movement, and a commitment to Africa's future.
