Overview

Equipping Africa's next generation of climate leaders

The Africa Resilience Academy is Banyani's flagship leadership development program — a 12-week intensive that equips young Africans with the climate knowledge, advocacy skills, and professional networks they need to drive meaningful change in their communities, countries, and across the continent.

Delivered through a blend of online learning modules, live virtual workshops, and in-person cohort events, the Academy brings together passionate youth from across Africa to learn together, challenge each other, and build the relationships that will sustain a movement for decades.

Graduates of the Academy go on to lead climate projects, work with governments and NGOs, and speak on national and international platforms. Many come back as mentors for the next cohort — keeping the knowledge flowing and the network growing.

A 3-day residential summit in Ghana brings the entire cohort together for workshops, field visits, networking, and a collaborative project challenge.

The Academy builds lasting relationships across borders — connecting climate changemakers from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and beyond.

💡

Real Projects Launched

Every cohort produces real community climate projects — from school programs and community gardens to policy advocacy campaigns and green startups.

🔁

Alumni Mentorship

Graduates return as mentors, guest speakers, and facilitators — creating a self-sustaining ecosystem of knowledge-sharing that grows with every cohort.

"Before the Academy I had the passion but not the tools. After it, I had a 5-year plan, 40 new collaborators, and the confidence that I was not alone in this."
